Founded in 2014, Metro Nashville Public Schools, the Nashville’s Agenda Steering Committee, and the Nashville Public Education Foundation created the Blue Ribbon Teacher Awards to recognize top teaching talent in our public schools.

The awards honor 50 teachers who join more than 350 of Nashville’s top public school educators named to this distinction to date.  Along with Blue Ribbon designation, each teacher received a cash prize of $1,000, a trophy and a round-trip airline ticket donated by Southwest Airlines.

To be eligible all nominees must have been a full-time teacher in an MNPS-run school or MNPS charter school for at least 4 years, and have had an average observation score of 4.75 or greater over the last three evaluation years.
