Where is Nashville Classical West Located?
Nashville Classical West is located off Charlotte Pike and I-40 at 1015 Davidson Drive, Nashville, TN 37205.
Who can attend Nashville Classical West?
Nashville Classical West is a free, public school and is open to all students in Davidson County.
Nashville Classical West is currently enrolling Kindergarten students for the 2023-2024 school year. All children who are Davidson County residents and will be 5 years old before Aug. 15th, 2023 are eligible to apply.
Applications for the 2024-2025 school year for Kindergarten and First grades will open in late January.
Who are the staff members at Nashville Classical West?
Mrs. Alex Lambert is Nashville Classical West’s Founding Principal. Mrs. Lambert has been an integral part of the Nashville Classical community, beginning her journey with our schools as a founding parent and joining the team as a staff member in 2021.
Before joining Nashville Classical staff, Mrs. Lambert served as a middle school math teacher in the Mississippi Delta, a Dean of Students and Assistant Principal at RePublic Schools in Nashville, and a Principal at Intrepid Schools in Nashville. Since joining the NCCS team, Mrs. Lambert has used her knowledge and experience to make an impact on scholars, staff, and families as our first AP of Culture. When we asked her what makes her most excited about taking on this role, Mrs. Lambert had this to say:
“I’m excited about leading NC West because an excellent education is the civil right of every child and as a school leader it’s my responsibility to ensure that every scholar is empowered to achieve greatness each day. As a current Nashville Classical parent and staff member I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue making history with every member of a wonderful community.”

What are the school hours?
Arrival begins at 7:40AM and class begins at 8:00AM. Dismissal begins at 3:15PM.
Is there before and after care?
Yes! We are partnering with YMCA Fun Company to provide after care at NC West. We will update the webpage this Summer with details on how to sign up.
Additionally, many of our bus stops go directly to after care partners in West Nashville, including Preston Taylor Ministries sites and local community centers.
Is there transportation/busing?
Yes, there is limited bussing provided for Nashville Classical West. Click below for routes.

What are plans for future growth?
In the 2023-2024 school year we will have an inaugural class of Kindergarteners.
In 2024-2025 we will add a 1st grade, and thena 2nd grade the following year.
In 2026-2027 we will add a 3rd grade and 6th grade. We will then add a grade in elementary and middle school each year until we are a full K-8 campus in the 2028-2029 school year.
Is there a Uniform? Where can I purchase one?
Yes, at Nashville Classical we require a uniform for all scholars.

Where is Nashville Classical East Located?
Nashville Classical East is located at 2000 Greenwood Ave, Nashville, TN 37206 in the historic Bailey Building.

Nashville Classical East serves grades K-8 with a student population of 550.
Enrolling a Scholar
What are the steps to apply to either campus?
Step 1 – Obtain a Student ID Online (Registration) Starting in Late October*
- Visit the online portal and follow instructions to upload the following documents:
- Photo identification of the parent or guardian (driver’s license, passport, military ID, etc.)
- Record of Birth (birth certificate, passport, visa, I-94, etc.)
- Proof of Residency (current lease, mortgage statement, utility bill, etc.) You can use a sales contract or future dated lease using the non-resident enrollment
form.
- This process will give you a student ID and enroll your child in your address’ school of zone. Once you have a Student ID, you can begin the process of applying for Pre-K, K or or an optional school.
- *New kindergarten registration opens in January 2024
Step 2 – Apply for an Optional School Starting in Late January
- To apply for an optional school go to https://schooloptions.mnps.
org/login, create an account and follow the steps to apply. - You will need the “190” student number to start this process.
- The first round of applications closes in early February, but the application remains open for the entire year.
- Once the lottery occurs in mid March, you will be notified if your children have a seat at a Nashville Classical school or if they’ve been placed on the waitlist.
- Go to https://schooloptions.mnps.
org/login, to accept your seat and confirm that you will be attending - You will complete other paperwork for the school in the summer, including selecting transportation and setting up contact information.
Is there sibling preference How does it work?
Sibling preference is given to students who have a sibling attending the school to which they are applying, as long as the sibling will still be at the school in the year for which they are applying. A student may get sibling preference for East, only if their sibling attends East. The same is true for West.
Additionally, when two siblings apply to the same school (but different grade levels) and only one sibling is selected, if the parent accepts the seat, the sibling that did not get selected will be moved to the sibling priority waitlist.
A student with sibling preference will be offered a seat from the waitlist when a vacancy becomes available.
To be considered a sibling, two students must share at least one guardian and live in the same household.
What are the requirements for entrance into Kindergarten?
Students eligible for kindergarten must be 5 years of age on or before Aug. 15 of that school year.
If your child will turn 5 years of age between Aug. 16, and Sept. 30 you may contact MNPS to ask about Kindergarten Readiness testing by calling 615-259-INFO(4636). Students with eligible Kindergarten Readiness Assessment scores can submit an optional schools application. Students who do not meet the cut off scores can apply for Pre-K.
